What is HAAC?

The Home and Community Care (HACC) Program is a cost-shared program between the Commonwealth and State/Territory governments. It provides funding for services that support people who live at home and whose capacity for independent living is at risk of premature or inappropriate admission to long term residential care.

The HACC Program is a key provider of community care services to frail aged people and younger people with disabilities, and their carers.

Services which are provided under the program include:

    • Counselling, Support, Information and Advocacy
    • Domestic Assistance
    • Social Support
    • Nursing Care
    • Personal Care
    • Allied Health Care
    • Respite Care
    • Centre Based Day Care
    • Food Services
    • Home Maintenance
    • Home Modification
    • Transport
  • Other HACC Services
