CommunityWest is committed to advancing community services and achieving our vision of being Western Australia’s leading sector development agency in community care services. Our aim is to achieve this outcome by working alongside the sector to progress best practice and develop service innovation. The Board of Management oversees the policy, planning and governance of the organisation on behalf of members.

A not-for-profit organisation, funded by Home and Community Care (HACC), CommunityWest has been in existence since 1996. Over time, we have successfully built strong and supportive relationships with numerous community aged care providers and other important stakeholders. Forging these partnerships has allowed CommunityWest to play a significant role in assisting funded service providers to strive for continuous improvement, giving them the ability to deliver the best quality service to their clients.

We achieve these goals by working with organisations and individuals within the community and aged care sectors in the areas of:

  • staff training and development
  • project and change management
  • development of learning and staff development resources and tools.

Particularly since February 2011, CommunityWest has risen to the new challenges posed by the implementation of the Community Care Common Standards (CCCS) and the Western Australian Assessment Framework (WAAF). Our staff have been active participants in terms of providing training, mentoring and consultation opportunities with service providers in the metropolitan area to support these major changes and developments. As an organisation, we look forward to supporting our regional service providers once the Assessment Framework roll-out continues throughout the rest of the state.
