National Police Checks for Volunteers Project

Many HACC service providers rely on the extra help that volunteers can contribute to the day-to-day running of a service. Effectively recruiting these volunteers is a vital step to ensuring that you have the most suitable people for your service's programs. An information package called the 'National Police Check for Volunteers Program' is available on the Government of Western Australia Department for Communities website.

Tips: preparing for a Quality follow up review

If you have recently had a Quality verification visit, the Quality department at CommunityWest has commenced conducting follow up reviews with service providers to monitor progress on your agreed Improvement Plan following the verification visit. The purpose of the follow up review is to assess progress on the required improvements (RIs) and improvement opportunities (IOs), as per the agreed Improvement Plan.

Preparing for a Quality Review site visit

Need to know more about what to get ready in preparation for a Quality Review on-site visit? Firstly, when your service is notified about your Quality Review you will be asked to nominate a staff member as the ‘Key Contact’ for the site visit. The Principal Quality Reviewer will ring the Key Contact to discuss how you are progressing with the completion of your self-assessment, as well as your other preparation. Part of this discussion will cover what records you'll need to make available for the Quality Reviewers. Find out more information.
