CommunityWest is a not-for-profit organisation Incoporated under WA legislation.  The Board of Management oversees the policy, planning and governance of the organisation on behalf of members.

The organisations visions is for 'a vibrant and continually learning and evolving Community Care sector delivering responsive quality services to clients.'

CommunityWest seeks to achieve this mission through working in partnership with community aged care providers and other stakeholders to build sector capacity and sustainability to support the delivery of quality services to clients.

Our main objectives are to:-

• Promote a learning and continuous improvement culture in our programs and projects

• Foster collaborative sector relationships, and

• Build operational capacity to support and provide quality services.

We achieve this through working with organisations and individuals in the areas of

1. training,
2. project and change management,and the
3. development of resources and tools that support learning and development.

History

In 1990, HTTB Inc was established as the HACC Training Brokerage under the sponsorship of the Home and Community Care program. The aim was to source quality training for HACC agencies throughout Western Australia.

The "Northern Suburbs Pilot Transport Program" was auspiced by the HACC Training Brokerage. A Transport Manager was appointed in September 1999, after which the pilot became a fully funded program. The program now covers a wide geographical area and provides over 65,000 passenger trips each year.

In 2002 the amalgamated organisation became known as HTTB (Inc), the HACC Training & Transport Brokerage. In 2003, the Aboriginal Development and Training Program commenced, providing culturally appropriate support to mainstream and Aboriginal specific HACC agencies.

In 2006 HTTB (Inc) refocussed its work more toward delivering quality services, assisting with sector capacity building and encompassing HACC specific development projects. To reflect the changing focus of the organisation the organisation has adopted a name change and associated brand identity to CommunityWest.
