In early 2010 the Wellness and Access/Assessment Project Teams merged and are now known as the Sector Development department. The team is made up of staff with a mix of professional skills and backgrounds and considerable community care experience.

Since their inception the work of both of these teams has been focused on developing and driving HACC sector reform initiatives at a range of levels (state-wide, metro wide and regional) and supporting the sector to implement these reforms such as the WA HACC Wellness Approach, ACCESS Network Points and more recently the WA Assessment strategy.

These initiatives require working closely with WA HACC providers around sector and organisational development and change management.

Key functions of the team include:

  • Consultancy Support: consultancy support that provides advice, resources and information on a range of reform initiatives in HACC, including strategic management, change management, evaluation, standards and policy development.
  • Networking Opportunities: Support and participation in a number of Networks and Working Groups that provide opportunities for leaders and managers to share their knowledge and work together for a stronger community sector.
  • Community Sector Resources: Development of resources to assist HACC Service Providers to implement Sector reforms.
  • Sector Development Projects: defined project work that focuses on particular issues requiring attention or an area of need in the HACC program.
